FC Barcelona Partners with World of Women for NFT Collection

European football giant FC Barcelona has partnered with the non-fungible token (NFT) project World of Women to release the second artwork in its 'Masterpiece' collection.

Titled 'Empowerment', the NFT artwork is inspired by Alexia Putellas, a renowned Spanish football player. Alexia, who captains Barcelona and represents the national team of Spain, serves as the inspiration for this unique piece.

Both Alexia Putellas and FC Barcelona are strong advocates for female empowerment in sports, as well as promoting gender equality and equal opportunities for women and girls within the industry. Their collaboration through this NFT artwork further highlights their commitment to these important causes.

'Empowerment' is the second NFT in FC Barcelona’s ten-piece 'Masterpiece' collection. 

The first, titled 'In A Way, Immortal' was released in July last year. It was inspired by the late football player Johann Cruyff, who is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
