American Bitcoin Overtakes ProCap With 5,044 Bitcoin Holdings

American Bitcoin now holds 5,044 Bitcoin worth approximately $443 million, surpassing ProCap Financial in the corporate treasury rankings. The Eric Trump-backed firm has added over 1,000 Bitcoin to its reserves since early December, according to BitcoinTreasuries.Net data.
ProCap Financial, founded by entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano, currently holds around 5,000 Bitcoin and ranks 22nd among corporate holders. The company raised $750 million through a special-purpose acquisition vehicle over the summer, aiming to provide investors with Bitcoin and digital asset exposure.
American Bitcoin became a public entity in March following a reverse merger with Gryphon Digital Mining. The company, formerly known as American Data Center, was introduced by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, sons of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The broader corporate Bitcoin treasury race continues to accelerate, with the top 100 publicly listed holders now collectively controlling over 1.08 million Bitcoin. Wall Street veterans have characterized 2025 as Bitcoin's IPO moment, as early investors realize gains while new capital flows in through exchange-traded funds and corporate purchases.
Jordi Visser of 22V Research described the current phase during a recent podcast appearance, noting that early believers are cashing out while institutional capital enters the market. Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan echoed this sentiment about the changing market dynamics.
However, Bitcoin-focused treasury stocks have faced significant pressure despite continued accumulation. American Bitcoin shares dropped over 50% in one trading session earlier this month, while shares from Michael Saylor’s Strategy fell more than 60% from their peak.
Strategy reported acquiring over 10,000 Bitcoin last week alone, bringing its two-week total above 20,000 Bitcoin. The purchases demonstrate that corporate buyers remain active despite market volatility and declining stock valuations affecting Bitcoin-related equities.
